Nashville, Tenn. – Some of the greatest voices in Country, Gospel and Christian music have banded together for an all-new collaborative album of classic hymns titled, Voices: Vintage Hymns With Heart & Soul. The album is the first release from the Voices musical series.
The eleven-track album features classic hymns, sung with newfound soul by Country singers Larry Gatlin & the Gatlin Brothers, Joe Bonsall and William Lee Golden of The Oak Ridge Boys, Larry Stewart of Restless Heart and Trae Edwards, as well as Gospel and Christian music greats Phil Keaggy, Michael English, Judy Martin Hess, Joy Gardner, Woody Wright and Timothy Moore.
“When they asked us to be a part of this classic hymns album, we jumped right on it,” says Larry Gatlin. “Singing music for the Lord is what got us to where we are today. The good book says to ‘sing for joy in the Lord,’ and by the grace of God, we’re really dern good at that.”
Songs include “In The Garden,” “Old Rugged Cross,” “It Is Well With My Soul,” “Sweet Hour Of Prayer” and “In The Sweet By And By,” among others.
Williams Lee Golden adds, “What a joy it is to sing on Voices… I got to sing one of my mother and my grandmother’s favorite songs, ‘In The Sweet By And By.’ I can still hear them in my mind singing that song in church. I always think of them when I hear it.”
“What an honor to be included on this great hymns project,” says Larry Stewart. “I was really excited to be asked to sing one of my father’s favorite old hymns, ‘Sweet Hour of Prayer.’ I’m so proud of how it turned out. And to team up with such great voices I grew up listening to as a young music lover is quite a thrill.”
